Jennifer Vandenbrook, M.Ed., LPC is a National Certified Counselor and is licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Ms. Vandenbrook earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, specializing in early childhood education, from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1995. She earned a Masters of Education in School Counseling and Licensed Professional Counseling from Sam Houston State University in 2007.
Ms. Vandenbrook provides individual, couple, or group therapy to children, adolescents, adults and families. Jennifer specializes in the areas of ADD/ADHD, anxiety, depression, divorce, self-esteem and anger management. Ms. Vandenbrook also uses techniques of play therapy with children ages 3 – 12. Jennifer’s philosophies of counseling include
cognitive-behavioral therapy, brief
solution focused therapy and family systems therapy. Ms. Vandenbrook’s professional background includes eleven years of teaching at the elementary level and eleven years as an elementary school counselor. Jennifer is currently in her twelfth year as an elementary school counselor. Ms. Vandenbrook utilizes her experience in education to blend with her counseling philosophy, helping clients reach their potential in all areas of life.
Ms. Vandenbrook has presented at several state conferences including the Texas School Counselor’s Conferences in Houston, Galveston, Arlington and Dallas, TX, the Texas Computer Educator Association Conference in Austin, TX and at the National Conference for Innovative Counseling Skills and Strategies in Las Vegas, NV. She was named as a Women of Achievement in Education from FamilyTime in January 2017 and was selected as the Rhosine Fleming Elementary School Counselor of the Year by Texas School Counselor’s Association in January 2018.
Ms. Vandenbrook is a member of the Texas Counseling Association and is the current Elementary Vice President for the Texas School Counseling Association.
