Savannah Burke received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from McNeese State University in 1997. Since then she has earned her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health from CACREP accredited Lamar University in 2018. She is a member in good standing with the American Counseling Association (ACA), The Association for Creativity in Counseling (ACC), and the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors (IAMFC). She is also a member of Chi Sigma Iota, the International Counseling Honor Society.

Savannah’s counseling approaches and techniques are client-centered, and she utilizes eclectic and integrative techniques tailored to the individual or couple. Her belief is that the client is the expert of his/her own life and knows what they want and need because each journey is different. She creates an atmosphere where clients can communicate their feelings with confidence and know that they are being understood and not judged. Savannah believes the client plays an active role in their healing to allow for the greatest amount of growth and progress. She also uses different techniques intended to challenge cognitive distortions and negative thinking patterns to facilitate healing and help the client to better understand themselves and how they play a part in the healing process.

Savannah has experience in marriage and premarital counseling, as well as, experience in treating crisis situations, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and anger management. She enjoys working with families and couples and has a special interest in marriage counseling. In addition to therapy, Savannah administers full range testing and assessments for KBCC. More than anything, Savannah is passionate about helping people to reclaim their joy, power, and hope in life.
