Tammy Hicks, M.A., LPC is licensed by the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She attended school in Austin, TX and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Texas and her Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edwards University. Hicks has held her LPC since 2009.

Tammy has worked in numerous environments in both individual and group setting. This includes a hospital where she provided therapy to children, adolescents, and adults; adolescents on probation; varying levels of schools (pre-k to 12th); children and parents involved with CPS; adults and adolescents with substance abuse difficulties; anger management for adults; and a private practice where she provided individual, couples, and family counseling to all ages. She has experience working with those that suffer from depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual abuse, physical abuse, ADHD, relationship issues, marital conflict, family conflict, stress management, substance abuse, parenting issues, and various other life difficulties. She has been trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered therapy, and play therapy, and believes that every individual is different, and her experience allows her to tailor sessions to each individual client’s needs to help them achieve their goals.

Tammy is a firm believer that your past does not define you, and regardless of the challenges you have been through, together we have the opportunity to make positive changes in your life. She hopes to provide a safe and comfortable environment to everyone who comes and sees her.

Tammy is a mother of twins and a wife who understands what it’s like to balance a working and personal life. She enjoys reading, watching her tv shows, playing with her dogs, and spending quality time with family and friends.
