Wendy McWhorter, M.A., LPC-Intern attained her Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. She completed her graduate training at Family Time Crisis Counseling and is currently pursuing her Licensure under the supervision of Kimberly L. Boyd, M.S., LPC-S. Wendy earned her Bachelor of Science from Houston Baptist University in Psychology and English.
Wendy has experience in dealing with such issues as PTSD, trauma, sexual and other types of abuse, anxiety, depression, delusional and schizoaffective disorders. She has training in group and play therapy and a special interest in complex PTSD and dissociative disorders.
Her approach is generally person centered and trauma informed. As such, Wendy puts great import on the connection made between client and therapist and the healing that can come from empathy and respect. While the relationship itself is paramount, there are many tools that have proven helpful to clients with trauma backgrounds that Wendy employs as is beneficial to the individual client. Wendy is comfortable including the client’s faith as a part of their healing journey if the client so wishes.
