James Ainsworth is currently a clinical mental health counseling intern at Liberty University. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of Houston-Downtown. With 18 years of experience in private school administration, James has provided guidance and support to students and parents, which has fueled his passion for working with adolescents, adults, and families. He primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in his practice, as it is effective in addressing a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, sexual abuse, family dynamics, marital conflict, and other maladaptive behaviors. James is also trained to incorporate Christian counseling into therapy when clients are open to a faith-based approach. Above all, he strives to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can work toward their personal goals and build stronger coping skills to navigate life's challenges. Outside of his professional life, James enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, exploring the outdoors, and volunteering at his local church. James believes that every individual holds inherent worth, purpose, and value within their community, and he is dedicated to helping his clients reach their fullest potential for personal growth.
