Supervised by Maggie Chlebana, M.S., LPC

Lisa Schultz, a U.S. Navy veteran, graduated with honors from Liberty University with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Lisa is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate with the goal of becoming a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas and serving the community in which she lives. Her counseling emphasis is on depression, anxiety, trauma, and interpersonal conflict with individuals and couples. As part of the standard training process, Lisa’s counseling services are under the supervision of Maggie Chlebana, M.S., LPC-S, at Kimberly Boyd Counseling Center.

Lisa has spent well over a decade working in recovery and in a variety of crisis intervention programs within her community. She has experience working with individuals and groups who struggle with addictions, domestic abuse, anxiety, depression, anger management, and relational problems. As a counselor practicing person-centered and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Lisa strives to create a safe and empathetic space for clients. Grounded in the person-centered approach, she fosters an atmosphere of unconditional positive regard, genuine empathy, and congruence, allowing clients to freely explore their thoughts and emotions. Simultaneously, the integration of cognitive-behavioral techniques involves collaborative goal-setting and structured interventions to address specific issues and modify negative thought patterns and behaviors. This dual approach emphasizes the importance of understanding and validating the client's unique perspective while actively working towards tangible and positive changes in their cognitive and behavioral patterns. Lisa’s role is to facilitate self-discovery, empower the client to make informed choices, and provide guidance in navigating the journey toward personal growth and improved mental well-being.

Lisa spent a little under ten years serving in the United States Navy, which contributed to a deeper level of understanding of the difficulty of transitioning from active duty to civilian life and understanding the importance of support for this population, not only on an individual basis but as a group. Lisa has worked in both secular and Christian environments and is able to accommodate both populations. Her ultimate goal is to help people find peace.Lisa Schultz, a U.S. Navy veteran, graduated with honors from Liberty University with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
