Stephanie Dixon

Stephanie Dixon is a current graduate intern in the process of completing her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with Walden University. She obtained a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago.

Stephanie has an extensive background in the healthcare field but decided to pursue my passion for mental health. She has always had an interest in the mind and human behavior. Stephanie is also an Army
Veteran and Current Reservist, who has a strong desire to work with the veteran and military population to include the family members that support them.

Stephanie understands that total well-being not only encompasses physical health but mental health as well. She has a person-centered approach to counseling but is flexible and tailors her approach to the needs of the client. Stephanie’s goal is to build a rapport to forge a therapeutic alliance with each client, to help improve quality of life. Stephanie has a desire to ensure each client feels empowered and motivated by their choice to seek counseling services.
The counseling process can be very challenging, but she is dedicated to working alongside each client to identify those positive strengths
they possess, that will help them to overcome present obstacles. Through empathy, respect, confidentiality, and total acceptance of the client, paired with the dedication of the client, together we can navigate the counseling process.
