Trisha Rojas is a counseling student at Lamar University pursuing a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She intends to become a Licensed Professional Counselor upon graduating. Trisha earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Sam Houston State University. She is currently practicing under the supervision of Kimberly S. Boyd, M.S., LPC-S. Trisha is a student member in good standing of the American Counseling Association, and the Association for Creativity in Counseling.

Trisha draws on a holistic perspective of wellness and believes in caring for all dimensions of the self that interact as a whole. Trisha utilizes a Person-Centered approach, while integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and expressive arts techniques that are tailored to meet the unique needs of the client. Trisha has also completed training in Cognitive Processing Therapy which she uses to assist clients diagnosed with Post-traumatic Stress Disorder in overcoming their challenges by gaining new coping skills and learning to dispute negative thoughts and emotions related to the trauma.

Trisha values the therapeutic relationship and believes that through establishing a genuine connection, she can truly empathize with clients to help facilitate growth. Trisha collaborates with clients to set goals and walks alongside them in their journey while maintaining an absolute acceptance and understanding of the client’s perspective. She strives to create an environment for clients to feel safe in expressing their emotions without judgement. Trisha is confident that everyone holds the power within themselves to progress towards reaching their maximum potential. By engaging in self-exploration and reflection, barriers of self-actualization can be identified, and clients can become empowered to make positive changes towards living a fulfilling life.

Trisha has gained practicum experience at Family Time Crisis and Counseling Center, where she worked with a variety of clients, including survivors of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. Trisha is passionate about treating multicultural populations and individuals who have suffered from intimate partner violence. Trisha provides counseling services to clients with various concerns including, but not limited to: self-esteem, anxiety, depression, trauma, communication, grief, anger management, codependency, cultural issues/identity, eating disorders, and relationship issues. Trisha has joy working with clients from diverse backgrounds, and can treat individuals of all ages, couples, and families.
