Vivia M. Brown is currently a student at Liberty University, completing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She holds a previous Master of Business (Project Management) from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from Upper Iowa University.

Vivia has a passion for mental health wellness and is a lifelong learner. She believes that intrinsically all people are good and have within them the tools needed to grow and elevate themselves.

Vivia is interested in working with individuals, couples, families, the military, children, trauma, anxiety, and depression. Vivia believes in utilizing various theories to achieve mental wellness. These approaches include Person-Centered, Solution Focused, and Humanistic.

Vivia has spent over 25 years serving as an Army Officer. This opportunity has conditioned her to be resilient and provided her with experience operating in high-stress environments. She brings her multicultural awareness experience and a wealth of knowledge working with individuals to navigate and overcome tough challenges.

Her hobbies are participating in philanthropic endeavors with her local sorority chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, spending time with her family, and seeking opportunities to learn and grow.

Her philosophy is that you are the captain of your ship. Therefore, you set the course and direction you seek. Her favorite quote is by Nelson Mandela, “it always seems impossible until done.”

Professional organizations include the American Counseling Association, the Texas Counseling Association, The Association of Child and Adolescent Counseling, and the American Mental Health Counselors Association.

Vivia is practicing under the supervision of Maggie Chlebana, M.S., LPC of the Kimberly Boyd Counseling Center.
